Todd Sumerfield

Dr. Todd Sumerfield is a board-certified veterinary cardiologist at Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency. Originally from Broomfield, Colorado, Dr. Sumerfield is excited to return home to the Front Range and continue providing an excellent standard of care to the community’s pets.

Dr. Sumerfield received his veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 2021. He then completed a rotating internship at Texas A&M University, followed by a cardiology residency at the University of Illinois. His clinical interests include interventional cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging, and heart failure management.

Dr. Sumerfield enjoys working closely with pet owners, family veterinarians, and the CASE team to provide thoughtful, individualized care for dogs and cats with heart disease.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Sumerfield enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and spending time with his family
