Dr. Shelley Rhoads is a Colorado native and graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. She completed her undergraduate studies in Animal Sciences at the University of Kentucky. Before entering veterinary school, Dr. Rhoads built a diverse foundation of experience working at Walt Disney World and in multiple veterinary settings, including general practice and an emergency and specialty hospital in Lexington, KY.

While attending veterinary school, Dr. Rhoads served as the feline medical coordinator for the Shelter Medicine Club, where she played a key role in rescuing, treating, and rehoming more than 100 cats. These experiences strengthened her passion for emergency medicine and shaped the compassionate, patient-centered approach she brings to every case.

Dr. Rhoads’ professional interests include ophthalmology, trauma stabilization, surgical procedures, and providing care that supports and preserves the human–animal bond throughout recovery.

Outside the hospital, she enjoys scuba diving, volleyball, hiking, cheering on the Denver Broncos, and spending time with her three cats: Scarlett, Alice, and Button.
